by

The latest Boeing 747 to be produced passed through Brazil this Saturday (4). The first of the last four Jumbos to be produced in the history of aviation, delivered to Atlar Air, had departed on June 2 from the factory in Everett (USA), direct to Asia.

According to Atlas, this 747-8F variant plane (freighter) was already contracted, even before its delivery, to operate for Chinese Cainiao in its shipments of parcels from China to South America.

Therefore, the trip to Asia already seemed to indicate that the brand new jet would not take long to pass through Brazil. And indeed, the prospect was confirmed.

The first operation of the newly produced Jumbo Jet was exactly the route from Hong Kong to Guarulhos, with intermediate stops in Anchorage and Miami, both in the United States.

According to the video below, captured and published by the channel “Oxigênio Aéreo”, Aeroin’s partner on YouTube, the Boeing 747-8F registration N860GT arrived at São Paulo International Airport just two days after leaving the factory, landing on runway 09R at 16:30 on Saturday (4th) of June, according to data from the RadarBox platform.

In the recording above, in addition to the landing of the imposing and iconic quadrijet, it is also noted that it won the sticker commemorating the 30th anniversary of Atlas Air, as the company was founded in 1992.

After arriving in Brazil, the Jumbo remained on the ground for about three hours and then left for Santiago, Chile, on the last leg of the long operation of flight GTI-8228, which started in Hong Kong.

Atlas Air is the largest operator of Boeing 747 aircraft in the world, with 46 units divided between the 747-400 (41 jets) and 747-8 (5 jets) models. The last three 747-8Fs being produced by Boeing are all owned by the company.
