Gas Aid of R$ 53 starts to be paid this Friday (17) with Auxílio Brasil

Caixa Econômica Federal begins to pay, this Friday (17), the installment of the Gas Aid to families across the country. The amount of R$ 53, which will be deposited together with Auxílio Brasil, can now be consulted by beneficiaries through the application.

The Ministry of Citizenship did not inform the number of families that will benefit in June with the gas voucher, which is paid every two months. The last installment, deposited in April, was R$51 and served 5.39 million families.

The amount of the installment is defined according to the average national reference price of the 13-kilogram cylinder of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) in the last six months, based on a survey by the ANP (National Agency for Gas, Petroleum and Biofuels) .

According to the agency, the average price of gas in the semester was R$ 107.15, referring to the period between December 2021 and May this year. According to Citizenship, the gas voucher represents 50% of this value.

The money will be deposited in the families’ account together with Auxílio Brasil, formerly Bolsa Família, according to the end of the NIS (Social Identification Number). Withdrawals can be made with a social card, through the Caixa Tem app, for those who have Caixa’s digital social savings account, or through the easy savings account that the bank opens on behalf of the citizen.

In May, the government allocated R$ 7.3 billion to 18.1 million families through Auxílio Brasil. Sought, the Ministry of Citizenship also did not inform how many families will receive the benefit in June nor how many were included in the income distribution program this month.

The latest survey carried out by the CNM (National Confederation of Municipalities) showed that the queue of families waiting to be included in the program reached 1,307,930 in March.

The Gas Aid is paid only to:

• Families enrolled in CadÚnico with monthly family income per capita (per family member) less than or equal to half a minimum wage (R$ 606 this year);

• Families with people who receive the BPC (Continued Payment Benefit);

• Women heads of household and victims of violence have priority to receive the benefit
