On the table is the granting to vulnerable households of a new “accuracy check” corresponding to the 200 euro allowance given at Easter.
Next Monday (June 20, 2022) they will – except unexpectedly – “lock” the measures for its continuation fuel subsidy in the July-September quarter.
At a meeting with the Prime Minister at the Maximos Palace, the financial staff will present the framework for the extension of the fuel subsidy measure, which -according to information- will provide increase the amount of the subsidy but also the number of beneficiaries by adjusting the income criteria.
The aid will essentially take the form of a new one “Energy check” in vulnerable households.
The cost of the new package is estimated at EUR 500 million, as only the increase of state aid – in the “umbrella” of which a larger number of beneficiaries will enter as they will reach 3 million from 2.3 million in the first round of subsidies – will amount to 200 million euros from 130 million euros .
As reported by ERTaccording to the planning of the financial staff:
- For gasoline, the bonus will continue to be administered in July, August and Septemberin its current form (Fuel pass 2) while the amount of aid will increase to 40-60 euros for the quarter depending on the area and type of vehicle for 30 to 50 euros today. More households will receive the aid as well the limit for family income will be around 45,000 euros from 30,000 euros.
The existing model will be followed for the granting of the allowance. That is, natural persons and self-employed persons will apply for assistance provided that they meet the new limit on family income, own a vehicle or motorcycle-moped that is in circulation, is insured and therefore does not owe road tax .
For entrance to the platform which is expected to open by the end of June will need the personal passwords to TAXISnet, while the application will have to fill in the contact details and in particular, the e-mail address and the mobile phone number.
If they choose “Deposit to bank account” as the method of granting the grant, they will have to fill in the IBAN of the personal bank account or account of the co-beneficiaries. The submission of applications will be done gradually depending on the expiring VAT number.
The aid would be paideither by issuing an intangible digital card or by depositing in a personal bank account held by the beneficiary or in an account that is a co-beneficiary. The credit of the subsidy either to the intangible digital card, or to the selected bank account will be made within 2 working days from the date of receipt and processing of the beneficiary’s application by the financial institution of his choice. The amount will be scaled depending on the area where the beneficiary’s main residence is located and the type of vehicle. For the beneficiaries who will choose to use a digital debit card, the financial support will be increased by 5 euros.
- Diesel driveThe pump subsidy will be extended beyond June considered increasing the amount to 15 minutes from 12 minutes per liter today.
Administration to vulnerable households is under consideration new “accuracy check” corresponding to the € 200 bonus given at Easter. This measure requires a budget of 250-300 million euros.
A larger subsidy will be given to liquid fuels for island regions of the country, while increasing the state subsidy for barren lines.
