“Safari” checks for big tax evaders starts in a month: Who will be in the crosshairs

Six new control centers in operation, staffed with 800 specialized tax inspectors.

A month later they will finally start to the 6 new control centers are operational – 4 in Athens and 2 in Thessaloniki – which will face exclusively the big one tax evasion. By decision of the head of AADE, George Pitsilis, will begin their work on July 29.

Manned with 800 specialized tax collectors, will have expanded audit responsibilities including control over natural persons who exercise or do not exercise tax activity provided they meet at least 1 of the following criteria:

-The value of real estate of the taxpayer, his / her spouse and his / her protected children, as calculated in the electronic application of the AADE Property Register, amounts cumulatively, from 1-1-2015 onwards for at least one year, in the amount of 1,000,000 euros and up to the amount of 1,500,000 euros.

– The annual notional cost of living, resulting from Income tax returns for the tax year 2018, amounting to 100,000 euros to 150,000 euros.

-The amounts of expenditure for acquisition of assets amount to 200,000 to 400,000 euros

-They sent money abroad remittances totaling from € 100,000 to € 200,000 in at least one year from the year 2015 onwards, as identified by the data transmitted to AADE, by credit, financial institutions, payment institutions and investment service companies and by the data of the co-beneficiaries of the billing accounts for the sending of the remittance.

In addition the Control Centers will be able to control real estate transfer cases, inheritances and parental benefits, gambling winnings or subject to review of past cases.

The operation of the 6 control centers is part of an effort to reorganize the tax control mechanism. The operation on July 29 is also part of the same framework two Certification and Collection Centers (ΚΕ.Β.ΕΙΣ.), one in Attica and one in Thessaloniki, which have as their business goal the pursuit of debt collection. of the two Prefectures, even with the imposition of enforcement measures, as well as the management of a portfolio of debts that could not be collected.
