Lula’s lunch at Fiesp this Tuesday (5th) annoyed industrialists who were not invited. Those who were left out say that, in addition to Dan Ioschpe (Iochpe-Maxion) and Beto Sicupira (Ambev), the heavyweight industrial sector was not invited.
A businessman who did not go to Fiesp joked that lunch could have been at Febraban or another retail and services entity. The petit committee brought together Luiz Carlos Trabuco (Bradesco), Luiza Trajano (Magalu), Fábio Coelho (Google) and a few other names.
The more restricted meeting and with representatives from other sectors, according to the businessmen involved, was requested by Lula himself. But those who were not invited resented the new management of Fiesp and said they missed the big events, with dozens of businessmen, that the previous management, by Paulo Skaf, promoted with ministers and the Presidency to strengthen dialogue with BrasÃlia.
If the presence of industry members was considered scarce at this Tuesday’s lunch at Fiesp, there will be another occasion with Lula in August. He returns in the meetings with the presidential candidates to which Bolsonaro, Ciro Gomes, Simone Tebet, Felipe d’Avila and André Janones were also invited.
The discomfort expressed by those who did not attend the Fiesp event can be interpreted as a sign of the business community’s anxiety to meet with Lula to hear from the former president the signs for the economy in the event of a PT victory.
