Hyundai presented this Tuesday (5th) the 2023 line of the compact HB20, which is the best-selling hatch in Brazil. The model hits stores in August for R$76,690 (suggested price for the Sense 1.0 version).
The launch coincides with 10 years of production of the model in Piracicaba (São Paulo countryside). It is the only factory that produces the model in the world, with a capacity of 210,000 units per year.
The model was redesigned, but kept a feature in common with the previous version: a huge front grille. Now, however, the part is more integrated into the bodywork and divided into two parts.
The straight cuts of the front are also seen in the headlights and in the creases of the hood. At the rear, a thick acrylic bar connects the new taillights. However, when the car is viewed from the side, there are no significant changes.
The front and rear have been slightly elongated due to changes to the bumpers. With that, the hatch has gone a little over 4m in length, although the interior space –which is not the best in the rear seat– remains as before.
The new panel is 100% digital, and now the air conditioning can bring automatic temperature adjustment, an item available in more expensive versions.
Another novelty is the key with remote start function, being possible to start the car remotely to, for example, activate the cooling system in advance.
All versions are equipped with six airbags, as well as traction and stability controls. Through the Bluelink app, it is possible to track the vehicle, activate the windows and lock or unlock the car, among other functions. The service is free for the first three years.
The entry versions are equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder flex engine (80 hp). The most expensive options (from R$ 93,790) receive the turbo, which increases the power to 120 hp.
The most expensive of the line is the Platinum Plus 1.0 turbo (R$ 114,390) that has a color digital panel, autonomous braking in case of emergency, blind spot sensors, partial leather upholstery and a six-speed automatic transmission.
The sedan version will hit the market between September and October, but prices have not yet been released.
