The minister stated that within 7 days with the new mechanism, more than 130 million surplus revenues have been recovered which will be allocated for the support of the citizens.
The government has provided for the next twelve months to support households and businesses, said the Minister of Energy Kostas Skrekas speaking today to SKAI 100.3 to Vassilis Chiotis and Noti Papadopoulos.
He said that within 7 days with the new mechanism they have recovered over 130 million in excess revenue which will be allocated for the support of citizens.
He emphasized at the same time that the government has taken the necessary measures even for the unfavorable scenario of the interruption of natural gas from Russia. As he said these are
- Partial replacement with liquefied gas that we get from Russia.
- The increase in power generation with lignite and diesel.
- The operation of the new unit in Ptolemaida
- The storage of liquefied gas in Italy which will come to Greece with reverse flow from the TAP Pipeline
Mr. Skrekas emphasized that with the new system implemented from July 1, 80 to 90% of the increase in consumer bills is subsidized.
The Minister also mentioned that we had 910 thousand applications for the replacement program for energy-intensive devices and clarified that 250 thousand people will get the voucher while the government is studying the increase of the amount so that some of the runners-up will also get it.
He also announced a 30% increase in the subsidy for electric cars and electric two-wheelers.
