It is now official. And with the stamp of the energy price observatory of the European Commission, Greece has the most expensive gasoline price in all of Europe as last week she also overcame the last obstacle of her frantic course, that of Finland. 2.344/liter in Greece, 2.339 in Finland.
It is characteristic that 50 days ago, the average price in the country was at €2,267/liter and Greece was in 7th place. Since then he has been steadily gaining places until he reaches the top. The Greek price is 38 minutes above the European average which is at €1.96. Denmark is also in the 2.30 club, while the price remains above €2/liter in 13 of the 27 Eurozone countries.
At Cyclades the average price of gasoline exceeds 2.6/liter and 2.47€ in the Dodecanese. 5 more prefectures – Evrytania, Kefalonia, Lesvos, Rethymno and Samos and have an average of at least €2.4/litre, 6 minutes above the national average.
In the diesel market – where the horizontal subsidy at the pump by 15 minutes also applies anyway – things work much more smoothly. Greece has the 10th most expensive price at €2,012/litre (17 cents above average) when last week it was 5th. If the government decided tomorrow to withdraw the subsidy, then Greece would jump into the top 3 with the most expensive diesel prices behind only the Scandinavian countries, Sweden and Finland.
On the last 10 days of July, the fuel pass 2 platform will be expected to open, with increased subsidy amounts reaching €100 for cars and €70 for motorcycles in the island regions, while the Ministry of Finance has rightly increased the incentive to use the digital card instead of depositing into a bank account at €15 instead of €5 since in the first fuel pass cycle only 2/10 used the card.
