Government charges 625 thousand beneficiaries return of emergency aid

The Ministry of Citizenship said it has started sending cellphone messages to about 625,000 citizens who need to return emergency aid to the government for not complying with the program’s rules. According to the agency, cell phone messages (SMS) are being sent this Monday (29th) and Tuesday (30th), with the aim of providing guidance on the voluntary return of resources.

Workers who, when sending the 2021 Income Tax return, will receive cell phone messages from this third batch, they were informed that they would have to return the benefit installments. In these cases, a DARF (Federal Revenue Collection Document) was generated for the return, which is still open. There are also cases of people who may be holders of a second federal government benefit, such as retirement, unemployment insurance or an emergency benefit from the Employment and Income Maintenance Program, or with employment relationship when the aid was paid, or identified with income incompatible with the receipt, among other cases, says the government.

According to the ministry, after sending the first and second batch of 2021 messages, approximately R$ 66.3 million were returned to public coffers for the payment of outstanding DARF and for the payment of GRUs (Union Collection Guide), in the period from August 18th to November 18th.

Messages from the Ministry of Citizenship have the beneficiary’s CPF number and the link starting with gov.br. They are sent by numbers 28041 or 28042. The Ministry of Citizenship warns that any SMS from numbers other than these, for this purpose, should be disregarded.

For the group related to the IRPF Declaration and issued DARF, who requested assistance through the CAIXA application, called public ExtraCad, the message will be: “The CPF ***.456.789-** has a DARF of Income Tax in Emergency Relief issue. Pay the amount or report fraud. gov.br/dirpf21ae“.

For Publics of the Single Registry and Bolsa Família, identified in the IRPF 2021 declaration with DARFs issued without payment, the message will be: “There appears DARF of Emergency Aid open in your Income Tax for CPF ***.456.789-** Pay the amount or report fraud. gov.br/dirpf21ae“.

According to Citizenship, those who receive the message about open DARFs must pay or access the site gov.br/dirpf21ae to report fraud, if applicable, or report discrepancies in values.

Those who do not have an open DARF, but have values ​​to return, need to access the website gov.br/devolucaoae and enter the CPF. A GRU will be issued and payment can be made through Banco do Brasil’s service channels, or at other banks, if you select this option when requesting the issuance of the GRU in the system.
