In his statements, the regional governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, pointed out that the percentage of the agricultural economy in the GDP of Central Macedonia is consistently at the level of over 20%.
One thousand five hundred young farmers of Central Macedonia joined the program “Young Farmers Facility”in the context of the third call for support applications, and will be funded for their business plans, with a total amount of over 55 million euros.
Already, the results of the evaluation of the applications and the integrated projects that will be financed have been posted on the website of the Region of Central Macedonia, as well as the conditions for the absorption of the grant per beneficiary. Also, the beneficiaries and scholars in all the Regional Units will be informed electronically by the competent services of the Region.
Every new farmer receives subsidy of 35,000, 37,500 or 40,000 euros, depending on the area of ​​implementation of the project and the direction of exploitation. The runners-up have been informed that those who have not submitted the necessary supporting documents should do so within the next few days in order to join the beneficiaries, while the objections process will proceed, so that those who are entitled to also join the beneficiaries. The additional 1501 beneficiaries will be announced after the completion of the specific procedures.
In his statements, the governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, pointed out that the percentage of the agricultural economy in the GDP of Central Macedonia is stable at the level of more than 20% and emphasized that with the program of young farmers, not only the agricultural business plans are strengthened and the primary production, but the agricultural world is being renewed in age, which is a critical parameter for the development of the primary sector in the future.
“The Region, in addition to the 1501 young farmers, who have already joined the program and will be supported with 55 million euros, aims to exhaust the total program budget of 86 million euros. This means that the final beneficiaries will exceed 2000”, he added.
