Caixa will distribute 99% of the 2021 FGTS profit, see how much you will receive

The Board of Trustees of the FGTS (Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço) approved, in an extraordinary meeting this Friday (22), the distribution of 99% of the profit of the 2021 Guarantee Fund to workers.

The 2021 profit was BRL 13.3 billion and BRL 13.2 billion will be distributed, the highest amount since the money began to be divided. This year, payment will be made in advance and Caixa Econômica Federal should release the money as soon as the decision is published.

The distribution index will be 0.02748761 over the balance in existing accounts on December 31, 2021. This means that for every R$100, R$2.75 must be credited to the account. In all, 106.7 million should receive. There are 207.8 million accounts with balance.

At the meeting, the board discussed other agendas. Before approving the distribution of profit, representatives of workers, companies and the government approved the FGTS profit last year, of R$ 13.3 billion.

In 2020, the fund’s positive balance was BRL 8.5 billion. Of this total, Caixa distributed R$ 8.1 billion, equivalent to 96% of the profit.

HOW TO CONSULT VALUES

To know the values ​​available in your FGTS, you need to make the query through the application. The total to be distributed per worker, however, will only appear on the account or accounts after Caixa Econômica Federal releases the payment, which is only scheduled for August.

1. Open or update the FGTS app
2. Click on “Sign in to the app”
3. Then, inform CPF and go to “Next”; then enter your password and click “Login”
4. Click on the images requested by the app to confirm that you are not a robot
5. On the home page, below, go to “My FGTS”
6. On the next page, all the Guarantee Fund accounts will appear; to see the extract of each one, click on “View extract”
7. The corresponding profit will be credited to each account; it is necessary to check the values ​​in each extract

HOW IS THE PAYMENT DONE?

The distribution is carried out by Caixa in the account of each worker. The amounts are credited and, in the FGTS statement, the information “AC CRED DIST RESULT BASE YEAR 12/XXXX (the year to which the payment refers will be informed)” appears.

WHEN WITHDRAW

Withdrawal of FGTS profit cannot be made immediately after release. The worker can only use this money if he falls into one of the situations of withdrawal provided for in law 8.036/90 for the withdrawal of the FGTS, such as unfair dismissal, retirement, purchase of his own home and serious illness, for example. WHO IS RIGHT TO FGTS PROFIT?

All accounts linked to the FGTS, whether active or inactive, are entitled to receive the previous year’s profit. Payment is made until August 31 of each year, for those who had a balance on 12/31 of the base year. The profit appears separately in each of them.
