SA Panel: Black women are lonely in leadership roles, survey says

Almost 60% of black women who occupy some leadership position in companies are the only ones in this type of role, according to research by HRTech 99job.

Among those interviewed, 78% said they have a white man as president. The majority also stated that the proportion of black and female leaders in the company does not reach 5%.

According to the survey, most of the interviewees believe that the market is still prejudiced in placing women in leadership positions.

About 95% believe that the presence of a leader can open doors for other black women and this movement can be favored by factors such as time of experience in the market, cited by 52%, academic qualification (50%), professional indication (41% ) and mentoring (34%).
