Workers born in August can now withdraw money from the FGTS birthday withdrawal (Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço). The amount, released from the 1st, will be available for withdrawals until the 31st of October of this year. If the worker does not withdraw the resource within the deadline, it automatically returns to his FGTS account.
August birthdays who want to receive the annual installment this year can join the modality until August 31. The subscription to the annual withdrawal can be made on the FGTS website and application and at Caixa service points, such as branches and ATMs.
In addition to the resource available in the birthday month, workers can apply for the FGTS advance loan. In this case, it is necessary to consult the authorized banks for the fees charged for the service and the amounts that can be advanced. Experts do not recommend taking out this type of loan unless it is in dire need. Minimum monthly fees range from 1.49% to 1.99% and you can make up to ten early withdrawals.
The worker who opts for the birthday withdrawal redeems the annual amount, but loses the right to have access to the entire FGTS balance if fired without just cause (the 40% fine is maintained).

Amount that can be withdrawn
The amount released by Caixa depends on the total balance that the worker has in his FGTS accounts, including active accounts (from current employment) and inactive (from previous jobs). For example: if the balance is BRL 800, you can withdraw 40% (BRL 320) plus the fixed installment of BRL 50, totaling BRL 370.
Whoever has up to R$ 500 of FGTS can withdraw half of the amount. The higher the total amount of the FGTS, the lower the percentage authorized for annual withdrawal.
