After the arrival of 5G in the capital of São Paulo, this Thursday (4), the investment agency InvestSP, together with the secretary of Economic Development of São Paulo, will send a basic text with a suggestion of law for the other municipalities in the state. interested in anticipating the preparation to adopt the technology.
To enter the system, they will have to update their antenna laws and adapt to new requirements.
“The equipment, in most cases, will be smaller, however, there is a need for new rules for land use, for example, since these antennas will occupy spaces such as traffic lights, property facades and power poles”, says InvestSP.
The agency states that the proposal for the base text was raised from the conversations it had with class entities, operators and Anatel to understand the legal context for the installation of antennas. The material can be adopted in full by the municipalities or serve as a parameter for them to develop their own models.
According to InvestSP, São Paulo is ahead, with updated laws in more than 4% of cities, compared to less than 2% in the national average. In the region called Circuito das Águas, in the interior, the cities of Águas de Lindoia, Amparo, Holambra, Jaguariúna, Lindoia, Monte Alegre do Sul, Serra Negra and Socorro have updated their laws together and are prepared to receive investments in the infrastructure of the 5G, says the agency.
The capital of São Paulo was off the list of cities chosen to inaugurate 5G in Brazil because half of the approximately 890 antennas still did not have filters installed to avoid signal interference, but last week the operators convinced Anatel about the technical feasibility of releasing the sign. It will therefore be the fifth city to receive the new technology, after Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre and João Pessoa.
