The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs emphasizes that the inspections by the Labor Inspectorate in all workplaces, where greater thermal stress is expected, will be intensive
The predictions of the circular, which was issued on June 15, 2022 and is posted on the website of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, for the prevention of thermal stress of workers, the ministry reminds, following the bulletin issued by the National Meteorological Service for prevalence very high temperatures in the next few days.
The circular mentions the obligations of employers (identification of tasks and workplaces where the risk of thermal stress is expected to be increased, taking appropriate technical and organizational measures, providing employees with appropriate means of personal protection, etc.), as well as the additional measures to be taken to protect those in high-risk groups.
As pointed out in an announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the measures to reduce thermal stress and protect the health of workers include, among others, the insulation of buildings and hot surfaces, ensuring adequate ventilation, granting breaks, reduction of employment or suspension of work in particularly thermally burdened areas (machine shops, foundries, glass factories, ceramic factories, shipbuilding works), as well as in the countryside between the hours of 12:00-16:00, the planning as far as possible of the works that entail high thermal straining at times when temperatures are lower, etc.
Finally, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs emphasizes that the inspections by the Labor Inspectorate in all workplaces, where greater thermal stress is expected, will be intensive and the response to complaints will be immediate.
