According to the poll, 73% of Greeks consider the euro to be “positive” for the country, compared to an average of 69% in the eurozone. In addition, 79% of Greeks consider the euro to be “good” for the EU, compared to an average of 78% in the eurozone.

“These results indicate the second highest support for the euro since the start of the annual survey in 2002,” the survey said, noting that the Eurobarometer was conducted on approximately 17,600 respondents in the 19 eurozone member states between October 25. and November 9, 2021.

The results also show strong support for the European Instrument for Temporary Support for Mitigating Unemployment in an Emergency (SURE), with 77% of Greeks and 82% of respondents across the euro area agreeing on its importance. lending to help Member States support employment. Similarly, the financial support provided by the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRF) is “positively” perceived by 77% of respondents in the euro area, compared to 83% in Greece.

Finally, 65% of respondents in the euro area and 55% in Greece, were in favor of the abolition of one and two cent coins through the mandatory rounding of the final amount of purchases in the next five minutes.
