THE Panathinaikos opened the new season in an impressive way, defeating Flisbos with a 3-0 set at the Klisto of Metz for the first matchday of the championship.
The coach Dimitris Andreopoulos spoke to sport-fm and George Petridis and emphasized his satisfaction with the team’s image, despite the relative difficulty the game hid.
He also referred to the challenge of keeping the “clover” at the top, as – as he argued – everyone wants to knock it down.
What he said in detail:
How hard is it to stay on top?
“It is very difficult. Everyone wants to tear us down, we feel it. To survive we must be twice as strong as in the past. We have to be completely focused.”
For the picture at the premiere:
“I am completely pleased. The result may be 3-0, but the game was more difficult than the score indicates.”
For the empty field difficulty:
“We are used to it. We’ve had a lot of punishments in recent years. But everyone loves this department because whenever he’s on the pitch he helps us a lot.”
For the new additions:
“We have a big trunk from last year and we don’t have many changes. We adapted very easily. One or two players have been added to the team, whenever this is not a problem at the beginning of the season.”
