The auctions of existing energy, types “A-1” and “A-2”, are used for distributors to replace contracts in the short term.
The A-2 auction of existing energy contracted 71 average megawatts (MW), or 1,245 gigawatt-hours (GWh), at an average price of R$199.97/MWh.
Buyers at the event were distributors Cemar (MA) and Celpa (PA), controlled by Equatorial, and CPFL Jaguari, according to CCEE. The CPFL subsidiary was responsible for 37% of the total energy traded at the event, while Cemar and Celpa were left with just over 30% each.
On the selling side, projects by the companies Eletronorte, Kroma, Vivaz Energia and Maxima Energia located in the North and Northeast submarkets were the winners. Power supply starts on January 1, 2023 and ends on December 31, 2024.
In total, the event handled R$ 249 million in contracts in the “by quantity” modality. In this product, the costs arising from hydrological risks will be fully borne by the sellers.
The event also offered energy contracting “by availability”, a specific product for thermoelectric plants powered by biomass, national mineral coal, natural gas and process gas. But there was no hiring in this category.
