WhatsApp started to allow users in India to make in-app purchases this Monday (29). It is a partnership with the JioMart supermarket chain.

It will now be possible to search for products from the company’s catalog and complete the purchase without leaving the app. Users can add items to their cart and pay for the chat itself, in automated conversations.

To buy from JioMart via WhatsApp, users in India only need to send a message to the company’s number. WhatsApp did not say whether in-app purchases will arrive in Brazil.

According to the company, the tool is part of the partnership between Meta and JioMart to accelerate India’s digital transformation.
