Shortly after Petrobras announced the reduction in the price of gasoline this Thursday (1st), President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) used social media to publicize the new price of the product sold by the state-owned company.
“New gasoline price reduction! Starting tomorrow, 09/02, the average sale price of gasoline from Petrobras to distributors will go from R$ 3.53 to R$ 3.28 per liter, a reduction of more R$ $0.25 per litre,” he wrote ten minutes after the company’s announcement.
On Wednesday (31), at an event in Curitiba, the president had already anticipated that he believed there could be news on the subject this week.
“Today is Wednesday, I think by Friday there will be more good news, because it is being a practice of the new president of Petrobras”, he said in an interview with SBT.
The reduction follows three others announced by the oil company since mid-July, when a cycle of low fuel prices began, as a result of lower global oil prices. Now the state-owned fuel is at the lowest level since March.
