Stock market: Normally on Wednesday the meeting – Why the OASIS system “fell”.

The meeting of Wednesday, September 7, 2022 will take place as usual, the group’s management says Athens Stock Exchange and regrets the disruption caused to the investing public by the technical problem that interrupted today’s session.

The Athens Stock Exchange group informs that during today’s meeting a technical problem occurred in the OASIS system, which resulted in the impossibility of smoothly servicing the applications of a significant number of its members.

For the orderly functioning of the market, it was decided to suspend the meeting until the problem is addressed.

The cause of the problem was traced to an error in the software responsible for the communication of members’ applications with the trading system (ODL Gateway), and it was not possible to restore it in time for all members within the market operation time. For the smooth conduct and completion of the required operations (indicative: calculation of closing prices of products and indices, production of clearing and settlement files, information of members and data vendors) the market reopened at 17:20. The closing prices were determined based on the provisions of the ATHEX Operating Regulations and the relevant Decisions (Decision 22).
