On the eve of the election, the Natura&Co group will launch a political education program for the network of resellers of its products, the so-called consultants and representatives of the Natura and Avon brands.
According to the company, with 2 million people, they can represent about 2% of the female electorate in the country.
“Research shows us that female voters are more reluctant to attend, with more whites and nulls. On the other hand, we know the power of women to influence their families and communities”, says João Paulo Ferreira, CEO of Natura &Co Latin America.
According to the executive, the idea came from observing the human development indicators created by the company to monitor the population of consultants. He states that the numbers have evolved in recent years in terms of work, income, education and health, but have shown a deterioration in terms of citizenship, that is, a significant portion of the consultants declares that they have no knowledge or involvement with political matters and many they perceive voting as an obligation that makes no difference.
“The content will include a booklet, webseries and a live with influencers. The idea is to help understand what political acts are, from registering your child to voting and monitoring your deputies, going through the explanation of the roles of the Legislature and of the Executive in the different spheres of power, how to get informed and how to distinguish false and true information, in addition to monitoring the performance of your candidate in the post-election”, says Ferreira.
The campaign will be launched on Thursday (15) with a live by Gabriela Prioli, presenter of CNN, the CEO of Raps (Political Action Network for Sustainability), Mônica Sodré, and Luana Xavier, actress and presenter of the GNT channel.
This is not the first political awareness initiative launched by the company in recent months. In July, Natura decided to help collect signatures for a popular initiative bill in defense of the Amazon.
For Ferreira, the polarization that Brazil faces today may be one of the reasons that generate distance or misinformation. “We think it is especially important to promote this reflection in this context. Diversity is so important. It is one of Natura’s founding beliefs. And diversity promotes debate, values counterpoints. We have to have space for dialogue and counterpoints so that society can raise its level of awareness. This enriches society, our network of consultants, our business”, he says.
