The heating allowance will increase to 350 euros from 300 last year.
A 24-minute horizontal subsidy on heating oil was announced by the government’s economic staff during the specification of the measures announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the TIF to relieve citizens from the energy crisis.
The cost of the measure amounts to 250 million euros and concerns 1.3 million households.
Also, the heating allowance is being increased in order to cover 1.3 million citizens.
The income criteria of the beneficiaries of the allowance are:
- 16,000 euros for the single (from 14,000 euros)
- 24,000 euros for the married (from 20,000 euros), increased by 3,000 euros for each child.
The heating allowance will increase to 350 euros from 300 last year.
Beneficiaries who consume oil or LPG or other forms of fuel other than natural gas for the first time this year are entitled to double the allowance. The cost is €300m from €84m in 2020 and €174m in 2021
