The tax meter panel, installed in downtown São Paulo, will reach the R$ 2 trillion mark this Wednesday (14). According to the ACSP (Commercial Association of São Paulo), responsible for the marker, the value should be reached at 14:04.
The Taxmeter is a digital panel that shows the amount paid in taxes, fees and contributions by Brazilians to the government since the beginning of the year.
The R$ 2 trillion mark arrives earlier this year. In 2021, ACSP recorded the value on October 13.
The anticipation of the amount, according to the association, is due to the increase in prices and the heating up of economic activity in the last 12 months. Until the end of the year, however, the pace of collection should decrease, motivated by the cut in taxes on fuel and electricity.
