Not even Ferrari was able to resist the wave of SUVs. The Italian brand revealed this Tuesday (13) its first crossover style model, called Purosangue.
The Italian company avoids positioning the car as a typical SUV. It is a super sports car with a 6.5 V12 engine (725 hp) and a trunk with a generous 473 liters of capacity. There are also four doors, which is the first time among the brand’s cars.
But yes, it looks like an SUV. Starting with the suspension noticeably higher than any other Ferrari. Furthermore, there is 1.58m from floor to ceiling, while the 296 GTB coupe is just 1.19m.
The numbers, as always, are superlative. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h occurs in 3.3 seconds, according to Ferrari. Up to 200 km/h, it takes just 10.6 seconds. These are track numbers, but the car can also be used for smooth rides. There are four individual seats available.
The dual-clutch transmission has eight gears, and the equipment list includes a 3D sound system. The driver has at his disposal a maintenance plan that covers the first seven years of the car, but the costs of this assistance have not yet been revealed in Brazil.
Although it runs on many liters of gasoline, the Purosangue offers some “environmentally friendly” solutions. Ferrari says that 85% of the coverings were produced sustainably, such as the roof linings and carpets made from recycled polyester and polyamide.
The debut in Brazil should take place next year, for no less than R$ 4 million.
