Ukraine’s armed forces have made “significant progress” in pushing out Russian invaders, but it is difficult to gauge whether the war in Ukraine is at a turning point, US President Joe Biden said today.

Reassuring about the big drop in the New York stock market

US President Joe Biden also said the New York stock market — which posted heavy losses on Tuesday amid investor worries about inflation — did not necessarily reflect the overall state of the US economy.

Biden, who spoke to reporters during a visit to the state of Delaware to vote in the primary election, also said he was not worried after the release of the latest data on inflation in the United States, although the decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI ) in August was smaller than economic analysts expected.
