Aracaju, Boa Vista, Campo Grande, Cuiabá, Maceió, São Luís and Teresina will be the next seven capitals to receive 3.5 GHz 5G after release from Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) this Wednesday (14th).
Cities will be able to activate the stations with the technology from next Monday (19). They are added to the other 15 capitals that have already received the connection in recent months.
The decision was taken by the Gaispi (Group for Monitoring the Implementation of Solutions for Interference Problems), which met this morning to discuss the next steps for the implementation of 5G in the country.
According to Anatel, by November 28, Claro, Tim and Vivo must have at least eight 5G stations activated in Aracaju, five in Boa Vista, 11 in Campo Grande, eight in Cuiabá, 13 in Maceió, 14 in São Luís and 11 in Teresina.
The goal set by the agency for operators is one 5G antenna for every 100,000 inhabitants.
The 5G schedule has been delayed due to the lack of equipment coming from China, which has decreed a lockdown because of a new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The imported equipment is filters that avoid interference. Therefore, at first, the agency granted a deadline until the end of September for all capitals to have 5G antennas. Now the new deadline is October 28.
