The INSS (National Social Security Institute) competition with 1,000 vacancies for social security technician will have two elimination phases: test and course. The course, unprecedented in the history of the institute’s selections, will also be qualifying and should start in January 2023.

The duration of the course has not yet been defined, which may be 30 or 45 days. The public notice, published this Thursday (15), only states that there will be 180 hours of training. The objective, according to the Minister of Labor and Welfare, José Carlos Oliveira, is to prepare the successful candidate to serve the public.

The course will take place in the cities of Belém (PA), Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasília (DF), Florianópolis (SC), Fortaleza (CE), João Pessoa (PB), Manaus (AM), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and São Paulo (SP). Candidates who are selected for qualification will receive half of the salary offered by the body.

The salary for the position, which requires high school education, is up to R$5,905. During the course, those approved will receive half of the remuneration until the training is completed and the professional is assigned to a job.

There will be a public notice with the rules of this formation, but there is no date for its publication.

“We are not in a hurry, despite the fact that we need manpower, it is important to invest in the quality of this training course”, says Oliveira.

There will also be a 60-day acclimatization period at the agency before starting activities.

Another justification for the course is the fact that there was a pension reform in 2019 and the rules have changed a lot since the last selection, in 2015.

How will be the distribution of vacancies in the INSS?

Of the total of 1,000 vacancies, 708 are for broad competition, 90 for people with disabilities and 202 for black people.

The initial remuneration of up to BRL 5,905.79 corresponds to the basic salary amount of BRL 712.61, plus bonuses such as GAE (Executive Activity Bonus), of BRL 1,140.18, and GDASS (Performance Bonus for the Social Security), which can reach BRL 3,595, in addition to a food allowance of BRL 458.

There are posts in all regions, with a greater focus on places where there is a greater deficit of servers.

The state of São Paulo will have 138 vacancies, eight of them in the capital. The others are distributed among the municipalities of Grande SP, Baixada Santista, São Paulo coast and interior. The places with the highest number of posts in this selection are Santos, Jundiaí and Araraquara.

Competition for a spot must be high. According to an estimate by the Minister of Labor and Welfare, José Carlos Oliveira, the expectation is that there will be 1.5 million registrations. Currently, the INSS has 14,500 social security technicians. The deficit of employees, however, is 23 thousand, according to an estimate by Fenasps (National Federation of Health Workers Unions.
