Staikouras for Fuel Pass 3: It is not a priority of the government

“We are in the phase of implementing the measures announced at the TIF, we are not in the phase of announcing new ones,” emphasized the Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras while closing the debate on the possibility of one new fuel allowance (Fuel Pass 3), as he said, it is not a priority at this time.

“No one knows how the situation will develop. We expect that there will be a horizontal European solution that will make costs more bearable, including a ceiling on the price of natural gas,” he added speaking to Mega.

For the private sector and the possibility increase in wagesMr. Staikouras emphasized that many interventions have already been made, such as a reduction in taxes, contributions, and an increase in the minimum wage.

“We have a network of measures that concern the whole of Greek society and which will now be implemented” noted the minister and added that depending on the dynamics of the economy they will also move in the future.

Regarding the retroactively of pensionersthe minister initially emphasized that the government is helping the vast majority of pensioners with great care.

“The low pensioners, for the second year, will be the beneficiaries of both the 6% increase and the abolition of the solidarity levy for those who had high incomes from the private sector” he added.

Mr. Staikouras answered about the delay in his payment power pass for the June accounts. He explained that this happened because a provider had not provided customer details to be integrated into the platform.

“The figures were given last Thursday and on Monday we have the impression that they will be paid,” said the minister.
