The Population-Housing Census 2021 is in full swing, which is carried out by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) throughout the country.
On the occasion of the Census and following a proposal by ELSTAT, the silver collector coin with the theme “Population – Housing Census 2021” was included in the monetary program of our country.
This silver coin is unique in its kind as a coin with the subject of the Census has never been created until today.
The collector coin bears on one side the mark of ELSTAT and on the other the logo of the Population-Housing Census 2021, its nominal value, the coat of arms and the words “Hellenic Republic” and “2021 Population-Housing Census”. The coin is 30 mm in diameter, weighs 10 g, is made of silver (Ag) 92.5% and in terms of print quality it is noted that it is carefully cut (proof).
As an indication of the appreciation of the great participation of the citizens in the process of electronic self-inventory, fifty (50) collector coins of the “Housing Population Census” will be drawn among those who register electronically. It is reminded that the phase of the electronic self-inventory continues until Monday, December 13, 2021. A representative of the household, having received from the ELSTAT Inventor the “Unique Inventory Code” of his residence and using his code in taxisnet can, through the digital portal of the public sector www.gov.gr, to inventory the residence and all members of his household. Those who can not, for whatever reason, to
self-inventory electronically, will be inventoried, in December, by the Inventor of their area through the process of personal interview.
It is pointed out that through the Census the population of Greece is counted in each Regional Unit, Municipality or Community and independent settlement, covering the whole Territory (mainland Greece, islands, border areas), while data on the demographic and social characteristics of the population are collected. and its housing conditions.
The General Censuses are carried out taking into account the unprecedented conditions prevailing due to the pandemic of Coronavirus COVID-19 disease and based on common methodological principles, rules and specifications in accordance with the law of the Union (Regulation EC 763/2008) as well as in 2021 (A ’17).
It is noted that participation in the Census is mandatory and the data collected are confidential, are not transmitted or disclosed to any public or private body and are used only for the production of aggregate statistics. It is emphasized that in the framework of the Census no sensitive personal data is collected.
During their work, the approximately 60,000 Enumerators and 12,500 Heads of ELSTAT carry, in addition to their police ID, a special badge with the ELSTAT mark, in which their details are written, as well as a definition form with their photo and its stamp
ELSTAT.
Finally, they are obliged to comply with all the necessary measures to protect public health from the risk of further spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.
