GSEVEE action planning
During the first day of work, the administrative and financial report of GSEVEE was carried out, while the president of GSEVEE George Kavvathas presented the 2022-2023 Action Planning of GSEVEE.
In his presentation, the president referred to two main axes. The first axis concerns those proposals that would result in the sustainable regulation of private debt. In this context, as he said, GSEVEE proposes a revision of the Bankruptcy Code, removal from the private debt of all fines and default interest that have been paid, deletion of part of the capital for the debt created during the pandemic and finally it is proposed to rejoin in the regulation of the 120 installments those who were unable to serve their installments during the pandemic period, while it is deemed necessary to expand and speed up the procedures of the extrajudicial mechanism for the regulation of the 240 installments.
The second axis concerns the strengthening of liquidity for small and very small businesses (directly and indirectly). In other words, it is proposed to institutionalize an unrestricted operating account for small and medium-sized businesses, the reduction of bank fees in electronic transactions, the complete and unconditional abolition of the pretense fee! the restoration of the tax-free limit for professionals, artisans and traders in the context of equality.
In the proposals referring to the access of small and medium-sized enterprises to sources of financing, it is proposed to institute a measure in the form of refundable advances as a permanent financing tool exclusively for small and very small enterprises (working capital), the activation of the Development Bank not as a Fund but as A bank in which the tax-free reserve could be deposited against non-transferable shares, limiting the short sale of the market and institutionalizing a special tax rate for excess profits.
For energy costs, it is proposed to limit cost increases such as Excise Tax, VAT on a range of goods and services, regulatory policies that focus on the distortions of energy markets and their removal, as well as calling on the Public Electricity Company to play an important role in shaping the prices and consumer protection.
Statement by G. Kavvathas
Mr. Kavvathas stated: “GSEVEE’s priority in the coming period will be to improve the position of small and very small businesses in the economy by limiting or removing all those obstacles that for years have condemned them to play a marginal role in an economy where oligopolies prevail”.
