The volume of road freight rose 38% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2021, according to freight transport platform Veículos.
The survey points to almost R$ 50 billion handled in more than 4 million freights published between January and June.
According to Veículobras, which brings together 740,000 truck drivers registered in the system and about 18,000 transport companies, the sector managed to circumvent a scenario of high inflation, a crisis in fuel prices and economic uncertainties.
The states with the highest volume of freight were São Paulo (21%), Minas Gerais (17%) and Paraná (11%). In terms of sectors, agribusiness pulled 36% of the loads registered in the semester, moving R$ 17 billion, followed by industry (28%) and construction (15%).
