Bank agencies will be closed across the country this Wednesday (12), a holiday for Nossa Senhora Aparecida, patron saint of Brazil.
Banking service will return to normal on Thursday (13) where there are no municipal holidays on this day, according to information from Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks).
The payment of the AuxÃlio Brasil and AuxÃlio Gás benefits will not be affected, as the calendar is programmed only for working days.
In October, the federal government anticipated the payment schedule for the families served by the programs. With the change, the benefit will begin to be paid on the 11th – one day before the national holiday. Payment returns on Thursday (13th) until completed on the 25th.
The closing of branches follows the 2020 resolution of the CMN (National Monetary Council), which does not consider holidays as business days for service. ATMs, however, will be available throughout the day, as well as remote service, by computer or cell phone.
The anticipation of the AuxÃlio Brasil calendar was defined one day after the first round of the elections and the definition of the dispute between Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in the second round for President of the Republic.
With the measure, payments of the R$ 600 aid will be completed before the second round, which will take place on October 30th. The original calendar provided for deposits between the 18th and 31st of October.
According to the Ministry of Citizenship, in October AuxÃlio Brasil will be paid to 21.1 million families, around 480 thousand more than in September.
This month, a portion of the AuxÃlio Gás will also be paid, in the amount of R$ 112. The bimonthly benefit will be granted to 5.9 million families.

Deposits occur according to the end of the NIS (Social Identification Number). First, they receive citizens with a final NIS 1 and so on, until reaching those with a card with a final zero.

HOW WILL THE HOLIDAY BILLS BE PAID?
Consumption bills such as water, electricity and telephone, among others, can be paid the next business day, without any additional charge. The same rule applies to payment books, says Walter Tadeu de Faria, deputy director of services at Febraban.
He states that the documents usually come with dates adjusted according to the calendar of national holidays, so it is important to check the due date of the ticket.
“Electronic means are a practical and extremely safe alternative and offer practically all financial transactions in the banking system”, he says.
