Concrevali, a company from the state of Paraná, in the construction sector, has threatened to fire 30% of its employees if former President Lula emerges victorious in the second round.
“Given the current political instability and possible change in economic guidelines in Brazil after the previous results of the election that took place on October 2nd and, if this same result is maintained in the 2nd round, the company will have to reduce its budget base and the number of employees for the next year by at least 30%, consequently which will affect our purchasing power and production, triggering a significant drop in our numbers”, says the document, released this week.
The text appears to have been copied from another statement that has been circulating on social media since Monday (3), released by another company, Stara, from Rio Grande do Sul.
The difference is that Concrevali adds the threat of firing 30% of the employees.
Sought by Panel SA, the company says that some of its partners broke contracts after the result of the first round. They state, however, that there is no intention to intimidate their employees.
The Public Ministry of Labor in Paraná says it has opened a civil inquiry to investigate the case. Next Tuesday (11), a hearing will be held to obtain information from the company and propose a term of conduct adjustment, according to the agency.
