About 673,000 self-employed professionals receive the fourth installment of federal aid to truck drivers and taxi drivers this Tuesday (18), anticipating the payment scheduled for October 22, a week before the second round of the presidential elections.
The monthly amount of R$ 1,000 is deposited in a digital social savings account automatically opened in the name of the beneficiary, to be used by the Caixa Tem application or at Caixa branches. Funds not moved within 90 days from the deposit date will return to the Federal Government.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Welfare, the new date is part of a reprogramming in the benefit payment calendar to allow the release of an extra installment to taxi drivers.
The November and December installments of the aid were also anticipated.

The aid is part of the Bolsonaro government’s package of goodies under the justification of helping drivers face the rise in fuel prices.
The price of fuel is one of the biggest criticisms faced by Jair Bolsonaro. In the 2018 election, truckers supported the president. This year, the category is harshly criticizing its government.
In addition to proposing aid to drivers, Bolsonaro has zeroed PIS and Cofins rates, two federal taxes, and a billion-dollar package to try to reduce fuel prices.
The measure has contained the price at the pumps, however, after 15 weeks of decline, gasoline rose again. Last week, the fuel was sold, on average, at R$ 4.86 per liter. An increase of 1.4% compared to the previous week, according to the weekly price survey by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels).
The price of diesel remained stable in relation to the previous week, being sold, on average, at R$ 6.51 last week.
