Grupo Santa, which controls the Santa Lúcia hospital network in the Federal District and is expanding in the Midwest, announced this Friday (10) the purchase of Hospital do Coração, in Campo Grande (MS), a reference in medical care of high complexity.
According to the group, the new unit has 85 beds and serves about 50,000 patients a year. The plan is to expand the number of beds to 120 in the coming months, build a new surgical center and modernize the emergency room. Currently, Hospital do Coração operates in 37 specialties.
With this acquisition, the group now controls seven hospitals and is present in all states in the Midwest region. In all, the network has 3,600 doctors working in ten units that add up to 1,300 beds and perform, on average, 70,000 consultations per month.
The group was founded by a group of doctors who created the first private hospital in Brasília, Casa de Saúde Santa Lúcia, inaugurated in 1966. Today Santa Lúcia Sul is the group’s largest hospital.
The doctor Mauro Cosme Andrade, current superintendent director of Hospital do Coração, will continue to lead the administration of the unit. The purchase price was not disclosed.
