Owners of dogs who died last month on suspicion of food poisoning have launched a virtual petition asking the companies involved to take action and take a stand on the case.
“We are more than one hundred tutors living a collective mourning, without any support from the manufacturers and brands that were responsible for one of the biggest atrocities against animals and consumers in Brazil”, says the text that presents the petition.
Until this Sunday (23), the number of people who had already signed the claim exceeded 1,300.
Ethylene glycol contamination of dog treats is under investigation and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply has even ordered the ban on the Bassar Indústria e Comércio factory in Guarulhos (SP).
It was also determined to suspend the use of two batches of propylene glycol raw material from the company Tecno Clean Industrial, which would have been used by Bassar. A few days ago, Balance, another brand of dog food, announced the recall of three batches of Steaks and instructed its customers to immediately suspend consumption.
