Panel SA: Bolsonaristas call for boycott of Ipiranga post after businessman support Lula

by

The Ipiranga Post became the target of a boycott by bolsonaristas on social media.

The move seems surprising because, still in 2018, Bolsonaro dubbed Paulo Guedes Posto Ipiranga, for allegedly having all the answers of the economic agenda concentrated in the minister. It was a reference to the advertising campaign of the fuel chain, which advertised a wide range of services, from the bank to the cafeteria.

In recent days, however, a call for a boycott of the Ipiranga gas station began to circulate on social media for new political reasons.

The reason was the support of Pedro Wongtschowski, chairman of the board of directors of the Ultra group, to Lula in the 2nd round. The businessman supported Simone Tebet (MDB) in the 1st round and was one of the biggest enthusiasts of the third way. Just over a week ago, Wongtschowski joined a group of people who recorded videos, posted on Tebet’s YouTube channels, to publicly detail their choices for October 30th.

“I voted for Simone Tebet with great conviction in the 1st round. And in the 2nd round I will vote 13. I vote for a civilizing imperative. I vote to have the right, in the next four years, to disagree. And disagreement is essential for the maintenance of the democratic regime and for the progress of the country”, said the businessman in the video.

The text of the Bolsonarista boycott that is now circulating on WhatsApp says that Grupo Ultra, owner of the Ipiranga gas station network, declared a vote for Lula, and therefore calls on Bolsonaro’s supporters to give them an “answer”.
