Apas (the association of supermarkets in São Paulo) foresees the opening of 16 thousand jobs in the sector by the end of the year in the state.
About 7,000 of them will be occupied in the metropolitan region alone.
The reinforcement should help to meet the heated movement by the World Cup, Black Friday and end-of-year festivities.
According to projections from supermarkets, the sector should end the year directly employing 600,000 people, with a 2% growth in sales compared to 2021.
