Shock clashes with scammers at Castelo Branco

by

Police officers from the Shock Battalion clashed on Tuesday night (1st) with protesters who participated in an anti-democratic act and blocked km 26 of Castelo Branco highway.

The police tried to get the scammers to release one of the eastbound lanes. The group also occupied two of the three westbound lanes and the footbridge over the road.

Morale bombs were fired at the group, which includes children. There are no reports of injuries.

In the early morning of this Wednesday (2), the bans on Castello Branco remained, with a lane released for traffic in both directions.

From early on, protesters chanted words of protest and set off fireworks. The light rain and the cold caused the number of children and elderly people present to decrease throughout the night. The PM acted so that at least one lane remains open.

The presence of children in the coup protest made the Military Highway Police of São Paulo change its strategy in the late afternoon. Accompanied by their parents, many were right at the beginning of the blockade, in front of the place where the TV cameras were positioned. Some used whistles and held the Brazilian flag.

According to the report, the movement’s leadership has adopted a “yo-yo strategy”. In the presence of the Shock Troop, part of the protesters disperses and banners are released to avoid confrontation. Then, without the police, the orientation is to block more lanes again.

Castelo has blocked points since Monday (31). In addition to km 26, there is a blockage at km 20, also with a free lane.

There is congestion on the two stretches where coup plotters are demonstrating.

In the late morning of this Tuesday, the police received an order to clear the act in Barueri. At around 12:30 pm, the Shock Troop was called. Rubber bullets and tear gas were used and the protesters dispersed. However, they returned to focus a few meters ahead.

Supporters of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) occupy roads across the country against the result of Sunday’s elections, which elected Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to the Presidency of Brazil. Many of them are calling for a military coup to forcibly reverse the results of the polls. In the vote, Lula had 60.3 million votes, against 58.2 million for Bolsonaro.
