Workers at Mercedes-Benz in São Bernardo do Campo (SP) approved this Saturday (12) a proposal negotiated with the company that guarantees the reduction of the impact of outsourcing in the unit and includes a Voluntary Dismissal Plan (PDV), according to a union note. .
According to the entity, the agreement ensures the relocation and retraining of workers and the “future” of the factory in the ABC region of São Paulo, where there was a risk of dismissal of thousands.
To guarantee the relocation, a POS will be opened for the metallurgists at the factory. Employees with at least three years in the company are eligible.
During the meeting, the executive director of Metalúrgicos do ABC and CSE at Mercedes, Aroaldo Oliveira da Silva, said that the main objective in building the agreement was to guarantee the future of the factory and jobs.
“We want to discuss the future, which are the next vehicles to be produced and the production process”, he explained in a statement.
Under the agreement, workers with a fixed-term contract will have priority in hiring as soon as production growth resumes.
