Over 940,000 citizens applied for the heating allowance – When will the first installment be paid

More than 940,000 citizens have so far submitted an application on the relevant AADE website (www.aade.gr/mythermansi), according to the finance minister Christos Staikouras.

At the same time, as the minister notes, “beneficiaries will receive their aid in 3 installments, of which the first will be paid until 21 December 2022″.

He explains at the same time that “the old beneficiaries can receive as an advance the total amount of the heating allowance that was paid to them during the previous winter season. The advance payment will be offset against the subsequent payments of the allowance.”

At the same time, he notes that “from October 14, 2022, the government has reduced the cost of heating oil for consumers by providing a subsidy of 25 cents per liter at the pump. With these interventions, which in total exceed 500 million euros, we confirm that we are standing firmly next to households, even during the current energy crisis”.

He also emphasizes that “the government, faithful to its commitments to economically efficient and socially fair support to households – especially the most vulnerable – against the increased cost of supplying heating fuel during the current winter season, has widened the scope of beneficiaries and increased the amounts of the heating allowance ».

It should be noted that the income limits for granting this year’s heating allowance have been increased to 16,000 euros for singles and 24,000 euros for married people, increased by 3,000 euros for each child.

At the same time, the allowance has increased from 300 euros multiplied by degree-days, in 350 euros.

In addition, those beneficiaries who consume, for the first time this year, oil or LPG or other forms of fuel, except natural gas, are entitled to a double allowance. Thus, new beneficiaries who do not use natural gas and old beneficiaries who stop using natural gas and replace it with one of the other subsidized fuels or with district heating can receive a subsidy of up to 1,600 euros.

Finally, it should be recalled that the deadline for submitting applications for the allowance expires on December 9, 2022.
