Eve, Embraer’s electric aircraft company, said this Thursday (8) that it has signed a letter of intent for the sale of up to 40 eVTOLs (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles or “flying cars”) to the Brazilian mobility startup FlyBIS.
The agreement with the startup from Caixas do Sul (RS) is aimed at developing eVTOL operations, according to the statement. FlyBIS’s order was included in Eve’s current backlog of up to 2,770 eVTOLs, the company added.
André Stein, co-CEO of Eve, says that the partnership will make it possible to expand the future of air mobility to the southern region of Brazil and to other countries in South America. He says that because they have many tourist areas with heavy traffic, the regions will benefit from eVTOL operations.
FlyBIS plans to expand operations to neighboring countries and contribute to the implementation and development of Eve’s air mobility ecosystem. The startup is backed by Brave Aviation, whose current fleet includes Embraer’s Phenom 100 executive jet and other aircraft.
Gustavo Zanettini, co-founder and CEO of FlyBIS, says the team is very motivated and working to change urban air mobility for future generations, “providing a more accessible and cleaner experience”.
