Panel SA: Agency that researches innovation for industry gains more centers

The Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (Embrapii) announces, this Monday (19), an investment of R$ 45 million for innovation in partnership with industry and accredits ten more research centers. In all, there are already 89 and more than R$ 2.6 billion invested.

In order to invest money in a private initiative project, Embrapii requires counterparts. With this, the expectation is that the amounts invested will generate an investment of approximately R$ 150 million in innovation.

The resources are the result of partnerships established with the Ministries of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and Education (MEC).

The resources go to company projects in the areas of agribusiness, biofuels, chemical inputs, energy, health, connectivity, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence and computer vision.

“We are closing 2022 with a record in contracting projects and companies served. With the addition announced today, we are ending the year in a position to offer the industry technical and financial resources to grow in strategic areas such as technology and sustainability, a strong trend for 2023” , points out the president of Embrapii, José Luis Gordon.

Embrapii operates in cooperation with research institutions, public or private, to serve the business sector, with the aim of fostering innovation in the industry.

To this end, it connects research and companies, and divides risks, by contributing non-reimbursable resources to projects that lead to the introduction of new products and processes in the market.

To have access to the Embrapii model, the company must present its technological challenge to the Unit with the technical competence that fits the needs of its project.
