Shocking is the testimony of a resident on who was at the scene when the attacker opened fire in the coffee bar in Nea Smyrni square, with one dead and two injured.
The victim was shot in the head, with the impact, according to police sources, referring in mob execution.
“I was sitting on the bench when I heard the shots. 4-5 must have fallen. Instinctively I ducked down until I realized what was going on. I turned around and saw people shouting in the bar and chaos… Panic prevailed. I did not see if there was one or more perpetrators” the eyewitness told skai.gr.
According to the first data collected by the police the perpetrator was one, and was sitting hidden behind foliage-bushes. He then walked in front of the coffee bar, and opened fire. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing and a coronavirus mask, according to another eyewitness.
In parallel with the ELAS investigations in the area of the coffee bar, as well as the searches in the area by ELAS motorized teams to locate and arrest him, at this time the security team is collecting video material from the stores on March 25. Police sources express certainty that both the perpetrator and his movements will be recorded.
