Panel SA: Ubatuba, Guarujá and Rio lead trips for Christmas and New Year

The week leading up to Christmas got off to a busy start in the road travel industry. According to ClickBus, a ticket sales marketplace, the average bus occupancy rate for the Christmas holidays is almost 80%. For the New Year, it is at 88%.

The destinations most sought after by passengers are on the Brazilian coast. For Christmas, the main trips sold by ClickBus are trips departing from São Paulo to Ubatuba, on the North Coast of the state, to Guarujá, in Baixada Santista, and to Belo Horizonte (MG).

There are also, in the “top 5” trips between Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro, and from Curitiba (PR) to Porto Alegre (RS).

Of the sales registered so far by the company, 54% are with shipments for the Christmas period.

Trips departing from São Paulo to Ubatuba and Guarujá are also among the most purchased for the New Year period. According to the ClickBus survey, trips between the capital of São Paulo and the capital of Rio de Janeiro lead searches for the period.

In the New Year’s “top 5” there are also trips from Belo Horizonte to Rio, and from São Paulo to Florianópolis (SC).

Compared to the holiday season in 2021, the road ticket marketplace recorded a 53% increase in ticket searches. Compared to the same period in 2019, in the pre-pandemic period, the increase is 170%.
