Stores expand attendance for Christmas; check schedules

Shopping malls, supermarkets and high street stores are free to establish their own opening hours this year-end, in accordance with the collective work contracts signed with trade unions in each region of the country.

Most, however, close on Christmas Day (25th) and New Year’s Day (1st) and close activities earlier on the respective eves.

THE Sheet prepared a guide with the hours of some of the main retail chains, supermarkets and malls in the final stretch of Christmas shopping, which expanded service due to the end of year festivities. Check out:

Wholesale

At Atacadão, stores will open on December 24, which falls on Saturday, from 7 am to 6 pm. But, depending on the region, they may close earlier because of the collective work agreement.

In Assaí, until this Friday (23rd), and between December 26th and 30th, stores will be open from 7 am to 11 pm. On the 24th, they open at 7 am and go until 5 pm. On December 25th, all stores will be closed.

supermarkets

Abras (Brazilian Association of Supermarkets) reports that each network is free to choose opening hours.

In Rio, the 26 units of Supermercados Guanabara will be open from 7:30 am to 6 pm this Saturday (24). On Sunday (25), all stores will be closed.

In São Paulo, the two Zaffari stores (in the Bourbon and Morumbi Town malls) will open from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm this Saturday (24). This Sunday (25), stores will be closed. Until this Friday (23), follow the hours of 7:30 to 23:00.

In Carrefour hypermarkets, the operation this Saturday (24) will depend on the square where the store is: some close service at 6 pm, and others at 8 pm. Carrefour supermarkets will close at 7 pm (with the exception of squares where the agreement with the trade union is different). Carrefour Express stores will close at 8 pm.

On the Todo Dia banner, most stores close at 7 pm or 8 pm.

At GPA —owner of the Pão de Açúcar, Mercado Extra and Compre Bem chains—, stores will close earlier on Christmas Eve (24th), as follows:

At Sugarloaf Mountain, activities end at 6 pm. The units in Itu (SP) will close at 5 pm. On the São Paulo coast, stores will close later, at 8 pm. On Sunday (25), only the stores on the coast of São Paulo will open their doors at 9:00 am, with operations scheduled until 11:00 pm (the Riviera Shopping store closes at midnight).

At Mercado Extra, on Saturday (24), stores in São Paulo will close at 6 pm or 7 pm. In Rio and in the Northeast, the stops are open until 7 pm. The stores on the coast of São Paulo will close at 20:00. On the 25th of December, only the units on the São Paulo coast open at 8am or 9am. The exception is the store in Atibaia (SP), which will be open from 8am to 4pm.

In the Compre Bem chain, this Saturday (24), stores in the interior and in the capital of São Paulo close at 6 pm. On the São Paulo coast, they are open until 8 pm. On Christmas Sunday, the stores will be closed, with the exception of the coast of São Paulo, where the units will open from 9 am to 9 pm.

Shopkeepers on Rua 25 de Março, a traditional popular shopping center in São Paulo, will open at normal hours, from 8 am to 6 pm. This Saturday (24), the stores are open until 2 pm and, on Sunday (25), they are closed.

In the area of Rua Oscar Freire, in São Paulo, where some of the most sophisticated stores in the country are located, extended hours began last Friday (16), from 10 am to 9 pm. On Christmas Eve, opening hours are from 10:00 to 18:00. On Christmas Day, the stores close. Schedules also apply to restaurants, hairdressers and beauty clinics.

The largest Casas Bahia store, located on the Tietê waterfront, in the north of São Paulo, will be open until 11 pm between this Tuesday (20) and Thursday (22), and on Friday (23) it will be open until midnight .

Armarinhos Fernando, one of the most popular toy store chains in São Paulo, is open this week at normal hours, from 9 am to 6 pm. On Saturday (24), it opens from 8am to 5pm. The network will be closed on Sunday (25).

Malls

More than 30 Aliansce Sonae shopping centers —Santana Parque Shopping (SP), Shopping Leblon (RJ), Boulevard Shopping Belo Horizonte (MG)among others— will work with extended hours this Friday (23): from 9 am to 10 pm or from 10 am to 11 pm.

On Saturday eve of Christmas, the developments work with hours that vary from 10 am to 7 pm or from 9 am to 6 pm.

On the 25th, the operation depends on the city: some malls are closed and others open from 12h.

Botafogo Praia Shopping (RJ)

Until this Friday (23), from 10am to 11pm. On Saturday (24), from 9 am to 6 pm.

Boulevard (RJ)

Until this Friday (23), the service is from 10am to 11pm.
On Saturday Christmas Eve, it runs from 9 am to 6 pm, and on the 31st, from 10 am to 4 pm. On Sunday (25), closed stores and optional food court.
From the 26th to the 30th of December, normal operation, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Bourbon (SP)

Until this Friday (23), the mall is open at normal hours, from 10 am to 10 pm.
On December 24th, the hours will be from 10 am to 6 pm. On December 25th, the operation of the stores and the food court is optional.

North Center (SP)

Until this Friday (23), the stores will be open from 10 am to 11 pm.
On the 24th, from 10 am to 6 pm. On the 25th, the operation of the stores and the food court will be optional.
Between the 26th and 30th of December, the stores will be open at normal hours, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Eldorado (SP)

Until this Friday (23), the hours will be from 10am to 11pm.
On the 24th, the stores are open from 10am to 5pm. On December 25th, the opening is optional.
In the week between Christmas and New Year (between December 26th and 30th), stores operate at normal hours, from 10am to 10pm.

Golden Square Shopping (SP)

Until this Thursday (22), from 10 am to 11 pm. This Friday (23) hours are from 10 am to midnight.
On December 24, the service will be open from 10 am to 6 pm. The operation on the 25th is optional.

Iguatemi Brasília (DF)

Until this Friday (23), the hours will be from 10am to 11pm.
On the 24th, the mall is open from 10am to 6pm. On the 25th, the stores will be closed.

South Garden (SP)

Until this Friday (23), the service will be from 10am to 11pm.
On the 24th, stores open between 9am and 6pm. The operation on the 25th is optional.

Madureira Shopping (RJ)

The venture will operate until this Friday (23) from 9am to 11pm.
On the 24th, the hours are from 9am to 6pm. On the 25th, the stores will be closed and the operation of the food court is optional.
From the 26th to the 30th, the operation will be normal, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Market Place (SP)

Until this Friday (23), the hours will be from 10am to 11pm.
On the 24th, the mall is open from 10am to 6pm. On the 25th, stores and the food court have optional service.
From the 26th to the 30th, normal hours, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Itaquera Metro (SP)

Until this Thursday (22), the stores are open from 10 am to 11 pm. On Friday (23), from 10 am to midnight.
On the 24th, from 9 am to 6 pm. On the 25th, attendance is optional.

Mooca Plaza Shopping (SP)

Until this Thursday (22), from 10 am to 11 pm. On Friday (23), from 10 am to midnight.
On Saturday, the 24th, from 10 am to 6 pm. On December 25th, stores will be closed and the opening of the food court is optional.
From the 26th to the 30th of December, normal hours, from 10 am to 10 pm.

NorteShopping (RJ)

Until this Friday (23), the service will be from 10am to 11pm.
On the 24th, the hours are from 9 am to 6 pm. Day 25 with stores closed and the food court with optional service.

Nova Iguacu (RJ)

Until this Thursday (22), from 10am to 11pm. On Friday (23), from 9am to 11pm.
On Christmas Eve (24) the hours will be from 9am to 6pm. On the 25th, the stores will be closed, and the food court will be optional.

Parque das Bandeiras (SP)

Shops open from 10 am to 11 pm until this Thursday (22). On Friday (23), stores open from 10 am to midnight.
On the 24th, the mall is open from 9am to 6pm. The operation on the 25th is optional.

Patio Paulista (SP)

Until this Friday (23), the mall is open from 10 am to 11 pm.
On the 24th, the stores are open from 10am to 6pm.

Santa Cruz (SP)

On Friday (23), the hours will be from 9am to 10pm.
On Christmas Eve (24th), from 9 am to 6 pm. On Christmas Day, the opening of stores is optional.

Sao Bernardo Plaza Shopping (SP)

Until this Friday (23), stores open from 10am to 11pm.
On the 24th, it is open from 9 am to 6 pm. On the 25th, the opening is optional.
Between the 26th and 30th of December, normal hours, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Shopping Nova America (RJ)

Until this Friday (23), the mall is open from 10am to 11pm.
On the 24th, from 9 am to 6 pm.
On the 25th, stores are closed and service at the food court is optional.

Tamboré (SP)

Until this Tuesday (20), extended hours from 10am to 11pm. A special schedule is prepared for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (21st, 22nd and 23rd), open from 10 am to midnight.
On the 24th, from 10 am to 6 pm. At Christmas, the opening of stores will be optional.
From the 26th to the 30th, normal hours, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Tijuca (RJ)

Until this Friday (23), from 10am to 11pm.
On December 24, stores are open from 9 am to 6 pm. On Christmas Day, the stores are closed.

Villa Lobos (SP)

This Tuesday (20), the mall opens at normal hours (from 10am to 10pm). On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (21, 22 and 23), it has extended hours, from 10 am to 11 pm.
On December 24th, it opens from 10 am to 6 pm. On Christmas and New Year’s Day, opening is optional.
