If they could opt for a way of working, 24% of Brazilians would choose the remote model, working from home. Another 28% prefer the hybrid system, working both at home and at the company. This is what the Datafolha survey carried out on the 19th and 20th of December shows.
The two groups that opt ​​for the ways of working that have stood out since the beginning of the pandemic represent 52% of respondents. There are still 45% who defend the journey only in person, and 3% who did not give an opinion.
The option for the home office is greater among women (28%) than among men (21%). It also increases with age, starting at 15% of respondents aged 16-24 to 36% of those over 60. Adherence among workers with elementary education (32%) is double that recorded in the group with higher education (16%).
The hybrid finds practically the same support in the female public (28%) and male (27%). In this case, the preference is higher among younger people (44%) and gradually drops as age increases —it is at 12% among those over 60 years old. It is also higher among workers with higher education (43%) than in the group with elementary school (12%).
The choice for face-to-face attendance is greater among men (48%) than among women (41%). By age, the number is close to 40% in the 16 to 34 age groups, rises to 49% in the 35 to 59 age group, and drops to 41% in those over 60 years of age. Adherence among workers with elementary education (50%) is greater than in the group with higher education (40%).
In the cut by occupation, the choice for the remote only is low among businessmen (11%), unemployed and civil servants (both with 13%). This option is more popular with housewives (45%) and retirees (39%).
The groups that show more preference for face-to-face are businessmen and salaried workers without registration (both with 47%), registered salaried workers (50%), civil servants (52%) and unemployed people (59%).
The hybrid is the choice, mainly, of the business community (40%), civil servants (35%), the self-employed (33%) and salaried workers (32%).
Students are practically divided between hybrid (45%) and face-to-face (42%) — only 14% choose remote.
In the group of retirees, 39% indicate a preference for the remote, the same percentage that chooses the face-to-face.
In the survey, 2,026 interviews were carried out throughout Brazil, distributed in 126 municipalities. The maximum margin of error for the entire sample is plus or minus 2 percentage points within the 95% confidence level.
