Panel SA: With tight budget, year-end trip had advance planning, says survey

by

Approximately 50% of the drivers interviewed in the survey carried out by Sem Parar this year stated that their trips during the December day off had been planned for at least two months.

With the tour money already reserved, customers who live in São Paulo chose not to leave everything for the last minute. Almost 30% of respondents planned their trips a month ago and 23% set a destination in the last 15 days.

About 94% of customers must use passenger vehicles to travel on New Year’s Eve, according to the company’s survey.

Because of the end of year festivities, car rotation in São Paulo is suspended until January 6, which should boost vehicle movement in the capital.

Still according to Sem Parar, the majority of respondents who decided to travel chose the countryside or the coast of São Paulo as their destination.

About 25% must leave the state. Preferences are Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro.

Among those who do not want to travel, 42% said they preferred trips outside the season and 20% indicated appointments in the capital of São Paulo.

The survey was carried out with Sem Parar customers in São Paulo, between the 16th and 21st of December. 1,050 people were heard.
