Upon taking office this Monday (2), the new head of the Finance and Planning Secretariat of São Paulo, Samuel Kinoshita, said that the state needs to assume a leading role in a tax reform.
Felipe Salto’s successor in the portfolio, Kinoshita also stated that he sees in his management the challenge of deepening the analysis and evaluation of public policies and the review of budget programs.
The new secretary came from the federal government, where he was a special advisor to the Ministry of Economy of Paulo Guedes from 2019 to 2021 and a member of the supervisory board of Banco do Brasil from 2020 to July 2022. He also worked at Guedes’ former company.
